Chocolate sprinkles for breakfast?

You might think only kids are mad about hagelslag (chocolate sprinkles) on buttered bread in the Netherlands. The truth is, it’s extremely popular with grown-ups too.

Eating some form of sprinkles is a normal everyday activity in the Netherlands. You can eat fruit-flavored sprinkles (vruchtenhagel) for breakfast, chocolate flakes (chocoladevlokken) for lunch or candy-coated anise seeds (muisjes) as a snack. No birthdays or other special occasions required.

That might explain why the Netherlands is voted as the 5th happiest country in the world, maybe chocolate sprinkles have something to do with this?
